The 4L65E was designed with the LS V8 engines in mind. They are not directly compatible with the 4L60E because they use a different torque converter and input shaft. The input shaft is 300mm vs. 298mm on the 4L60E. So if you are going to use a 4L65E make sure that you get the 300mm torque converter with it.
